Not navigation or safety advice

Schpin is a road journal and discovery service. It is not turn-by-turn navigation, traffic control, driver training, legal advice, emergency response or a safety system. Never rely on it instead of official signs, road markings, police instructions, current closure information, approved navigation or direct observation.

Routes can be unsuitable

A route may be private, closed, restricted, seasonally inaccessible, unsafe, too narrow, subject to a low bridge or weight limit, unsuitable for your vehicle, or illegal in the direction shown. Community routes may be approximate or created under different conditions. Confirm access and suitability independently before travelling.

GPS and sensor limitations

Buildings, terrain, tunnels, weather, device placement, power settings, network availability and operating-system behaviour can distort or interrupt GPS. A route line may jump, cut corners, omit sections or show a nearby road. Recorded location, time, distance, speed, elevation and stop detection may be inaccurate or incomplete.

Speed and performance metrics

Current, average and maximum speeds are device-derived estimates. They are not calibrated instruments and do not override your vehicle speedometer, legal duties or safe judgement. Heat-map colours are descriptive visualisations, not approval of any speed.

Schpin does not award or endorse fastest times, highest speeds, racing lines or performance competition on public roads. A metric shown in a feed or export must never be treated as a target.

Not evidence or professional advice

Schpin records are not guaranteed to establish who was driving, who was present, a vehicle’s actual speed, the exact route, compliance with law, collision circumstances or fault. Do not rely on them for court, insurance, employment, tax, fleet, medical or regulatory decisions without appropriate professional advice and independent evidence.

Community content

Routes, titles, comments, participants and reactions are supplied by users. Their presence does not mean Schpin has verified or endorsed them. Users may be mistaken, deceptive or acting unlawfully. Report harmful content, but contact emergency services—not Schpin—where there is immediate danger.

Vehicle and connectivity

You are responsible for roadworthiness, fuel or charge, tyres, weather preparation, licences, insurance and recovery arrangements. Mobile coverage, GPS, notifications, background execution, CarPlay and synchronisation may fail. Do not begin or continue a journey on the assumption Schpin will remain available.

Emergency limitation

Schpin does not monitor drives in real time for emergencies, collisions or offences and cannot dispatch help. Stop safely and contact the relevant emergency service if anyone is at risk. In the UK, call 999 or 112 for an emergency.

These disclaimers explain the intended and reasonable limits of the Service. They do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
